Value definitions

Fair Market Value or Replacement Value, matched to the use

We offer Fair Market Value (FMV) and Replacement Value appraisals for vehicles. The intended use of the report, such as a donation, a divorce, or insurance coverage, determines which definition we apply.

How we work

Remote for most vehicles, onsite when condition or use requires

Most vehicle appraisals are completed remotely. We coordinate an onsite inspection when the scope of the assignment, the condition of the vehicle, or the intended use of the report requires one.

Classic cars, luxury vehicles, RVs, motorcycles, and commercial fleets are all vehicles we appraise

We appraise a wide range of personally owned, collectible, and commercial vehicles, from a single passenger car to a multi-vehicle fleet, for insurance, tax, legal, and transactional use.

Everyday and collector cars

Passenger cars, luxury vehicles, classics, SUVs, and vans

We appraise the cars people drive every day and the ones they collect, from a family SUV to an antique in original condition:

  • Passenger cars and luxury vehicles
  • Classic, antique, and collector cars
  • SUVs and vans

Recreational and powersports

RVs, motorhomes, trailers, motorcycles, and watercraft

We appraise recreational vehicles and powersports equipment, including the boats and personal watercraft that often sit alongside them:

  • Recreational vehicles (RVs) and motorhomes
  • Trailers and fifth wheels
  • Motorcycles and powersports vehicles
  • Boats and personal watercraft

Trucks and fleets

Pickups, work trucks, commercial vehicles, and fleet inventories

We appraise trucks and commercial vehicles one at a time or as an entire fleet or multi-vehicle inventory:

  • Trucks and pickup trucks
  • Commercial vehicles and work trucks
  • Fleet vehicles and multi-vehicle inventories

We value vehicles for lenders, dealers, and fleet operators as readily as for an individual owner

AppraiseItNow works with banks, lenders, dealers, and companies holding rolling stock, and serves individual owners directly, from an estate inheritor to a donor documenting a vehicle contribution.

Lenders, dealers, and fleets

Collateral, financial reporting, and sale values for commercial files

Banks and lenders that need a collateral value on a vehicle or fleet, companies with rolling stock to value for financial reporting or a sale, dealers, and the internal finance teams, CPAs, and attorneys who handle those files all work with us.

Individual owners

Owners, heirs, donors, divorcing couples, and insurance disputes

We also serve individuals directly: vehicle owners and estate inheritors, donors documenting a vehicle contribution on IRS Form 8283, couples dividing a car or a collection in a divorce, families settling an estate, and owners disputing a total loss or diminished value offer from an insurer.

The vehicle team behind every report we write

Between them, our vehicle appraisers hold CAGA designations, and every report is written to USPAP for the IRS, insurance agencies, lenders, and more.

  • My daughter had purchased a very collectible 2003 Mustang Cobra terminator just 3 months before her accident with 50,000 miles on it, for 30,000 dollars. We were experiencing some very heavy rains and she hydroplaned and smashed into a guard rail and totaled her car. The insurance company offered her $18,000, but we told them that was an insult to this car. We kept going round and round with them but they were not budging. Finally we googled an independent appraiser and found AppraiseItNow! Their appraised value was 26,462. They negotiated with the insurance for us and we ended up with 25,900. They were awesome and helped us get much closer to the appropriate value of the Cobra. Absolutely worth the price we paid. Highly recommended!

    Car Appraisal for Insurance Claim

  • My wife and I purchased a property that included a double-wide mobile home, which we decided to donate to a local charitable organization that provides housing for low-income families. This type of donation required a formal appraisal to qualify for an IRS tax deduction, so we reached out to Appraise It Now. From the start, they were able to clearly answer all of our questions about both the appraisal process and the tax deduction requirements. We provided photos and additional details, and within 10 days we received a thorough, well-prepared report that included all the necessary IRS forms. I’m giving Appraise It Now a five-star review because communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Everyone I spoke with was helpful, friendly, and professional, and emails were always answered quickly. We were completely satisfied with the experience. Thank you!

Mobile Home Appraisal for Charitable Donation

  • I was very happy with the work put in on my totaled car appraisal. They did the appraisal quickly and VERY thoroughly. I felt like my insurance company gave a very low appraisal and Appraise It Now was very competitive, realistic and true to my expectations. The best part was they did a stellar job negotiating with my insurance company. I feel great about their work.

    Auto Appraisal for Insurance Claim

  • These guys were phenomenal. Joe was very responsive and gave clear instructions on how to submit my information for the appraisal, which he completed in a very quick timeframe. The appraisal itself was extremely detailed and included a thorough explanation of how they arrived at the value. It came with extensive documentation, and it’s clear they did a significant amount of research. They were also very responsive through text and email and always available to answer any questions. I had them appraise my fifth-wheel RV for resale, and I highly recommend their services. I will definitely use them again.

Recreational Vehicle Appraisal for Insurance Coverage

  • My mother passed away in August 2023 and unfortunately, in the state of Ohio, motorhomes are not transferable on death and was going to have to go through probate court. After speaking with an attorney, I was informed I needed an appraisal. Due to my hectic work schedule and family schedule, I was looking for someone who could do this online, without needing an appointment. After a quick Google search I came across Joe at AppraiseItNow Inc., and instantly felt relief. A quick inquiry led to a few emails back and forth, a very reasonable cost to have the motorhome appraised and all the information needed to submit to get this taken care of. Joe was patient, worked with me as it was going to take a few weeks before I was able to supply the needed images/documents and payment, and less than a week later of submitting it I received the appraisal. His communication is next to none! He responds very quickly, is kind and extremely helpful. If I need anything in the future, I will not hesitate to reach out again! Thank you again! I will forever be in your debt!

    Recreational Vehicle Appraisal for Probate

  • 10 Stars!! Joe was a pleasure to work with. Answered all my questions with incredible patience. Payment was swift and they got started immediately and the turn around time was much sooner than I expected. (I was on a time crunch and they got it done for me incredibly fast!) And the best part was the appraisal was even more than what I was expecting. And everything I need was sent to my email. Fantastic experience, would recommend to anyone needing an appraisal!

Frequently Asked Questions: Automobile & Vehicle Appraisals

What types of automobiles and vehicles does AppraiseItNow appraise?

We appraise a broad range of personally owned, collectible, and commercial vehicles including passenger cars, luxury vehicles, classic and antique cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, motorhomes, motorcycles, boats, commercial vehicles, and entire fleets.

Do you provide diminished value and total loss appraisals?

Yes. AppraiseItNow provides appraisals for both diminished value and total loss claims. A diminished value appraisal documents the loss in market value a vehicle sustains after an accident, even following repair. A total loss appraisal establishes the pre-loss fair market value of a vehicle when an insurer has declared it a total loss. Both report types are commonly used in insurance disputes and litigation.

Can you appraise high-mileage, damaged, or modified vehicles?

Yes. We regularly appraise vehicles in varying condition, including high-mileage, damaged, or modified vehicles. Mileage, condition, modification history, provenance, and market demand are all factored into the valuation.

Can you appraise entire fleets or vehicle collections?

Yes. We provide aggregated valuations for full vehicle fleets and collections across multiple vehicle types. Volume-based pricing is available for larger assignments and is confirmed in advance.

How much does an automobile or vehicle appraisal cost?

Fees are scope-based and quoted as a fixed price before work begins. Single-vehicle appraisals typically start at $195, more complex or compliance-driven assignments start at $295, and most projects fall within a standard range of $195–$495, depending on vehicle type, quantity, and complexity.

How long does an automobile or vehicle appraisal take?

Most automobile and vehicle appraisals are completed within 7–10 business days once all required information is received. Expedited turnaround options may be available for time-sensitive matters.
