AppraiseItNow Values Alabama Estates, Firearms, Equipment, and Boats for Probate, Divorce, Bankruptcy, and Property Tax Returns

AppraiseItNow appraises household contents, firearms, coin collections, and jewelry for Alabama probate inventories and divorce settlements, the machinery a business lists for property tax each fall, business interests for buyouts and bankruptcy schedules, and boats on Lake Guntersville, Lake Martin, and Mobile Bay for insurance and estates. Alabama has required no estate or inheritance tax filing for deaths after December 31, 2004, so a date-of-death appraisal here serves the probate court, the federal return where one is due, and the heirs' cost basis. The bond for an Alabama bonded title comes from a fixed schedule by vehicle type and model year rather than an appraised value, so vehicle appraisals here are for sales, divorces, total loss disputes, and estates.

Most Alabama reports are prepared online from the photographs and documents you upload. Onsite inspection is available statewide for plant floors, full-house estates, and collections that need to be seen in person. Fees are fixed and quoted before we start, and if you are working against a probate filing date, the December 31 listing deadline, or a hearing, we confirm up front whether we can meet it. We do not appraise real estate; for a home, farm, or commercial building, contact a state-licensed real estate appraiser.

  • My daughter had purchased a very collectible 2003 Mustang Cobra terminator just 3 months before her accident with 50,000 miles on it, for 30,000 dollars. We were experiencing some very heavy rains and she hydroplaned and smashed into a guard rail and totaled her car. The insurance company offered her $18,000, but we told them that was an insult to this car. We kept going round and round with them but they were not budging. Finally we googled an independent appraiser and found AppraiseItNow! Their appraised value was 26,462. They negotiated with the insurance for us and we ended up with 25,900. They were awesome and helped us get much closer to the appropriate value of the Cobra. Absolutely worth the price we paid. Highly recommended!

    Car Appraisal for Insurance Claim

  • AppraiseItNow Inc. is the best company I was lucky to find by accident. I was looking for someone to appraise cabinets for a donation to charity. I asked for multiple referrals, called multiple appraisal services, etc., and no one could help me. I found AppraiseItNow and from the moment I started working with them, they were wonderful! Joe guided me on what I needed to send him, what needed to be done and stayed in touch with me the entire time. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING and a welcome surprise in today’s world where good customer service is an anomaly! They returned an appraisal in a timely manner, it was clear, concise, cost-effective and exactly what I needed. They followed up with me multiple times to ensure that I received it and everything was OK. My CPA is also thrilled to have them as an accredited appraisal service he can use for other clients. I rarely leave reviews, but I could not pass giving them 5 stars and I’d give 10 if possible! THANK YOU JOE AND ALL AT APPRAISEITNOW!!👊🏼

Their staff was highly credentialed, and they provided IRS-compliant guidelines in their evaluation process, which was exactly what we were looking for. Their customer service also had prompt response times and was a pleasure to work with. If I need this service again, I won't go anywhere else.

Personal Property Appraisal for Charitable Donation

  • My wife and I purchased a property that included a double-wide mobile home, which we decided to donate to a local charitable organization that provides housing for low-income families. This type of donation required a formal appraisal to qualify for an IRS tax deduction, so we reached out to Appraise It Now. From the start, they were able to clearly answer all of our questions about both the appraisal process and the tax deduction requirements. We provided photos and additional details, and within 10 days we received a thorough, well-prepared report that included all the necessary IRS forms. I’m giving Appraise It Now a five-star review because communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Everyone I spoke with was helpful, friendly, and professional, and emails were always answered quickly. We were completely satisfied with the experience. Thank you!

Mobile Home Appraisal for Charitable Donation

  • I recommend AppraiseItNow Inc. highly. I needed an appraisal of fair market value for geologic laboratory equipment for charitable donations to three universities. The unique items and limited secondary market complicated the valuation. They provided a sound, verifiable estimate and the 8283 forms that I was able to use in my tax filings. I would use them again.

Alabama FAQ

Does an Alabama bonded title require a vehicle appraisal?

Not to set the bond. Alabama fixes the surety bond amount by vehicle type and model year under Ala. Admin. Code r. 810-5-75-.34: $50,000 for a passenger vehicle or pickup under five model years old, $25,000 at five to under ten, and $10,000 at ten or older, with lower figures for trailers and motorcycles and higher ones for trucks, buses, and RVs. Salvage vehicles get a reduced bond. An appraisal matters instead when you sell, insure, or divide the vehicle.

What date should an Alabama divorce appraisal use?

The date your attorney or the court specifies, which we set before starting rather than assuming one. We deliver fair market value for vehicles, firearms, jewelry, collections, and business interests as of that date, with the comparable sales and condition notes the report relies on, so the same document works for negotiation and for the hearing if the case gets there.

How does Alabama value business equipment for property tax?

Under the Alabama Personal Property Appraisal Manual, applying depreciation schedules to what each asset cost, then assessing the result at 20 percent of market value as Class II property under Ala. Admin. Code r. 810-4-1-.04. When a manual figure overstates what older or specialized machinery would actually sell for, an independent appraisal gives the owner a market value to bring to the assessing official.
